Jesus Unleashed: Reviewed
Jesus Unleashed, is not a Christian living book helping the reader break free from sin, the flesh & the devil. Much like the confrontations the author has had with the City of Los Angeles and the state of California, over the closing of churches and mask wearing in public worship from the start of Covid mandating. Jesus Christ had his share of confrontations with the Pharisees’ of his day. Did you know when Jesus healed on the Sabbath his action broke Moses law? Why were the religious leaders of his day always present when Jesus healed the sick, opened blind eyes, and raised the dead? In John MacArthur s latest book "Jesus Unleashed" you will quickly discover why Jesus gave five woe’s to the Pharisees, Why would Jesus purposefully provoke strife rather than trying to make peace with these religious leaders? Was Jesus really meek and mild? Come on in and let’s dive in a little further read more…

Jesus Unleashed: Introduction
Let's start with the front cover. There is no art work. The cover is just a plain bright white hardback cover, except for the "from the bestselling author of Only Jesus, "John MacArthur.
Then there is the title;
Jesus Unleashed and a diagonal slash through the last word along with a break below it. Before I talk about the subtitle, let's take a moment to ponder the title itself.
When I first heard about this particular book a few months before it was to be released it was the title that grab my attention. After all what is more hypnotic and captures your attention aside from a one word title is a two word title.
Surely, this wasn't another book about the second coming, or one based on a chapter or a few verses on the beginning of the church from the book of Acts?
Needless to say, the title did grab my attention. As we move down the cover we come to the sub title.
"A New Vision of The Bold Confrontations of Christ And Why They Matter."
Now this brings us to the conclusion that this book is going to be about how Jesus dealt with the religious rulers of his time. And it is. The outlined in true John MacArthur style, from the Gospel records of Mathew to John, which brings the reader to a full picture of the contents of this book.
Notice the back cover.
In the late 90's to about 2010, and still today publishers have quite using the synopsis or most known as a description, which aids the reader to decide to purchase a book. Instead many books just have several recommendations or short one to two sentence reviews by top authorities.
I am glad that Thomas Nelson has return to the book description.
As we get older print size matters. Jesus Unleashed, is a small hard back book with (this just a guess,) print size about a 7 font size. Let me give you a few examples of just how small this book is and I will show you a comparison of another of John's book.
As you can see as a closed book it is only 4 5/8" wide by 7 1/4" long.
This is not a very big book compared to his regular size hardbacks such as Christ's call to reform the church, or his foundation series.
The print size seems to be larger on the regular hard back. Also notice the paper. It seems the publisher is using an opaque paper that maybe recycled-instead of a crisp white as the other book. Recycled paper is actually great to use, but when combined with such a small font it actually limits the readers pace.
